Smart grid: Objectives and challenges, Seminar

Seminar Title:
Smart grid: Objectives and challenges
Abstract:

In the last few years there has been great concern on energy management and possible enhancements in the performance of the electric power network. This presentation identifies the main objectives that represent the motivation towards developing a two-way modernized electric network or what is called smart grid to replace the existing electric network. The main aspects of the smart grid and the challenges facing its development will be presented and future research directions that need to be addressed will be highlighted. Other related topics that gained so much attention in the last few years such as wind integration and power quality issues will also be discussed.
