The IEEE-NB Section is proud to congratulate the performance of two student teams at UNB who achieved outstanding results in the IEEExtreme 2023 programming competition.

Jonas Schoenauer and Matthew Laskey battling as Team unbCPC placed #3 in Canada (out of 63 entrants) and #458 in the world (out of 4416 teams).

Adding to the UNB success, Team RedsCode returned this year with Stephen White, Micah Landry, and Aritra De to place #7 in Canada and #697 in the world.

The IEEExtreme competition is an annual world-wide programming marathon that pits student members from around the world against each other to solve challenging programming problems within the same 24-hour window. UNB students completed virtually this year on October 20-21, 2023 working from 9:00 PM Friday to 9:00 PM Saturday local time. Their success speaks for the focus and determination of these talented students in a high-level competition.

Thanks are extended to Brent Petersen who organized the event at UNB in his role as Student Branch Counselor. The IEEE-NB Section would also like to acknowledge those members who volunteered to supervise the competition in a number of 3-hour shifts spanning the duration of the event.
