Welcome to New Brunswick
The IEEE New Brunswick Section is located in the picturesque Canadian province of New Brunswick, on the Atlantic side of IEEE Region 7.
The Section has approximately 200 members including student members from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and the French-language Université de Moncton (UdeM).
While the Section activities tend to focus on university / student events, New Brunswick is home to numerous IEEE members working in high-tech firms with a focus on diverse areas such as telecommunications, smart grid technology, cyber-security and clean energy sources. The province is also home to the Point Lepreau nuclear power station located on the Bay of Fundy.
The New Brunswick Section shares an international border with the Maine Section (Region 1) and the two Sections have a long history of sharing IEEE distinguished lecturer tours (DLT) and hosting cross-border speakers. The NB Section also works closely with our colleagues in the Canadian Atlantic, Newfoundland, and Quebec Sections.
